Gwent The Witcher Card Game for Android is a fantasy card game that allows you to play the famous Gwint on your smartphone or tablet. If you are a fan of the Witcher universe created by Andrzej Sapkowski and her game adaptation from CD Projekt RED, then you are unlikely to miss this mobile game.
About the game
Gwent The Witcher Card Game debuted in 2015 in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and quickly became known as the best mini-game in history. Players collect virtual cards and explore the game world to find more complex opponents. Of course, the mobile version of Gwint will be different from the original version, but the developers tried to maintain the general spirit and meaning of the popular card entertainment.
CD Projekt Red decided to make Gwent an android standalone game to compete with other collectible card games, such as Magic: The Gathering and Hearthstone. However, unlike other games, Gwint does not use the mana system. In addition, the mechanics of Gwent The Witcher Card Game allows the use of several rows, which provide various advantages in attack and defense.
Each player receives a deck of dozens of cards divided into 4 available fractions. Here are all of our old friends, namely: the Northern Kingdoms, the Empire of Nifgaardia, Monsters and Skelig. The gameplay is based on a standard turn-based model. The player starts with 10 cards, each of which represents a certain type of units, heroes, additional bonuses to the strength or morale of our followers and abilities that affect the weather on the battlefield.
Unit cards are placed in one of three rows. For melee fighters, ranged soldiers, and finally for siege weapons such as catapults. Each card is characterized by its unique skills and attack power. The winner is a player who has a more powerful army. In other words, the one with the most points at the end of the round. Typically, for card games, players need to win two rounds in order to win.
In addition to classic online duels, Gwent The Witcher Card Game offers a story campaign consisting of regularly released episodes. As the project develops, obviously, new modes and maps with characters will be added.
